About us

Current England Waste & Recycling (NEWR) is a local business, owned and run by the Lancaster family since 1979. We provide skip bin, hook bin, commercial and residential waste and recycling services to households, businesses and councils across the New England region. We're a supportive, family-owned team, and we look after our people.

We'll train the right person

You don't need skip bin or waste truck experience. If you hold an MR licence and you're willing to learn, reliable and take safety seriously, we'll train you in skip loader operation, our trucks, our systems and our safe work procedures. We care more about attitude than experience.

The role

This is a casual position with full-time hours, Monday to Friday with a 7am start, beginning as soon as possible.

You'll be:

- Driving our skip bin (skip loader) truck around Armidale and surrounds
- Delivering, swapping and collecting skip bins at homes, building sites and businesses
- Completing daily pre-start checks and keeping your truck clean and well maintained
- Following safe work procedures, site rules and Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Providing friendly, professional service to customers on the road

About you

- Current NSW MR (Medium Rigid) licence or higher (this is a must)




- A good attitude and a willingness to learn
- Reliable and punctual, and happy to work independently once trained
- A safe, careful driving record and a strong safety mindset
- Able to perform the inherent requirements of the role (e.g. operating skip loader controls, handling chains and bins, climbing in and out of the cab)
- Friendly, with good communication and customer service skills

Nice to have (not required)

- HR or HC licence
- Any heavy-vehicle driving experience
- Local knowledge of Armidale and the New England region

Conditions of employment

Any offer of employment will be conditional on:

- Licence verified and full NEWR induction required before starting
- A satisfactory Transport for NSW driver history check (with your written consent)
- Compliance with NEWR's WHS policies and procedures, including fitness for work
