Working a 38-hour week, you will help keep stock available and supplier orders on track. Your role will combine supplier contact, order coordination and data analysis, giving you practical exposure to how purchasing supports the wider business. You will initially manage an established range of products, with support from experienced colleagues and scope to take on more complex purchasing activities as your knowledge and confidence grow.

Key responsibilities

- Creating supplier orders and checking prices, quantities, and delivery details
- Tracking incoming goods and following up outstanding orders
- Keeping internal teams informed of delivery changes
- Reviewing stock reports and flagging potential shortages
- Comparing supplier quotes to support purchasing decisions
- Keeping product and supplier records accurate
- Using Excel to analyse information and prepare reports
- Coordinating delivery paperwork and resolving order enquiries

About you

You may be a Purchasing Assistant, Junior Purchasing Officer or Supply Chain Administrator ready to build on your experience.



You will bring approximately 1–2 years of relevant experience, together with:

- Approximately 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Strong practical Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and SUMIFS
- Experience using an ERP system; Pronto or Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be highly regarded
- A solutions-focused approach, with the ability to investigate issues, assess options and follow through on practical solutions
- Strong attention to detail when checking orders, pricing, and data
- Confidence communicating with suppliers and colleagues
- The ability to organise your workload, respond to changing priorities and meet deadlines
- An interest in developing a career in purchasing and supply chain
- Experience within packaging, manufacturing, industrial supplies or distribution would be valuable, although packaging experience is not essential
