Tableland Veterinary Service – Malanda QLD

Love turning complicated stuff into words people actually read?

Want your work to help animals and their people across eight rural clinics in North Queensland — from dairy herds and working dogs to cherished pets and elite horses?

After a team that backs flexibility, work/life balance and happiness at work (and was listed as one of Australia's 30 best workplaces for women)?

And would you rather be the one who looks after a brand than just decorates with it?

Read on — this one might have your name on it.

The opportunity

Rise Vets is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to be the voice — and the keeper — of our brand across all eight of our clinics: Atherton, Charters Towers, Cooktown, Edmonton, Innisfail, Malanda, Ravenshoe and Weipa.

You'll sit in our Business Support team, report to our General Manager, and lead a crew of Social Media Coordinators based in each clinic. You'll work alongside vets, nurses, client care teams and practice managers to turn clinical know-how and team news into communication that's clear, accurate, useful and unmistakably us.

Why it matters: good communication helps people make better decisions for their animals. It builds trust in the communities we serve. And it means a client in Weipa and a client in Innisfail get the same clear, dependable Rise Vets — every time.

The day-to-day role

No two weeks look the same, but a typical month might include:

- Social media — planning the content calendar around seasonal health messages, clinic priorities and community happenings; writing captions, coordinating photos and short video, publishing, and keeping an eye on comments and messages (and knowing when to hand something to a vet or manager).

- Community, sponsorships and events — keeping track of our sponsorships and partnerships, assessing new requests, and pulling together field days, open days, education nights and the odd media release.
- Newsletters — choosing themes, interviewing our vets and nurses, writing it up in plain English, then building, testing and proofing before it goes out — and learning from the open and click numbers afterwards.
- Website and blog — writing and keeping service pages, staff profiles, clinic updates and blog articles accurate, easy to read and easy to find.
- Client fact sheets and after-care notes — editing for plain language and consistency, working hand-in-hand with the responsible vet so the clinical advice stays exactly right.
- Brand custodian — making sure logos, colours, fonts, templates and tone of voice are used properly, briefing designers and printers, and helping the team get it right with simple guidance and friendly feedback.
- Keeping it all on track — campaign plans, schedules, approvals, supplier budgets, and short reports that say what worked and what we should do next.

This role may be perfect for you if…

- …you love editing as much as writing — and you can't walk past a misplaced apostrophe.
- …you can take complex science and make it simple without dumbing it down.

We simplify the language, never the substance.
- …you know a brand is more than a logo — it's how we sound, how we show up, and whether people trust us.
- …you're as comfortable at a field day in Charters Towers as you are polishing a fact sheet at your desk.
- …you'd rather report on what made a difference than count 'likes'.
- …you want to be part of a team that cares for one another like family and celebrates each other's wins.
- …you love an outdoor lifestyle — rainforest, waterfalls, reef and endless bush, with Australia's best tropical climate thrown in.

Our ideal candidate

You'll be confident yet humble, organised to the last detail, and great at working with experts to get the words right. You'll have:

- Experience in marketing, communications, content coordination or something close to it.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, and a knack for turning complex information into clear, client-friendly language.
- Experience creating and scheduling social media content for an organisation.
- A sharp eye for detail and a track record of sticking to brand standards, approval processes and deadlines.
- Confidence with everyday office software, website content management systems and digital tools.
- Valuable judgement with sensitive information, public comments and competing priorities.

Bonus points (but not deal-breakers) for:

- A qualification in marketing, communications, PR, journalism, business or similar.
- Experience in veterinary, animal health, healthcare, professional services or a multi-site business.
- Experience coordinating sponsorships, community events, media or exter
