About us

Gwandalan Aged Care Services is a local aged care provider working towards registration to deliver Support at Home services to older Australians in our community.

Our goal is to provide compassionate, reliable and personalised support that helps older people remain independent, safe and comfortable in their own homes.

About the role

We are seeking caring, dependable and motivated Casual Support Workers to join our growing team.

You will support older people to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life by providing practical assistance in their homes and communities.

Our provider registration is currently in progress, and service commencement will be subject to the required registration and operational approvals.

Key responsibilities

- Provide domestic assistance, including cleaning and household tasks.
- Assist clients with everyday activities in accordance with their care plans.
- Support clients to maintain independence, dignity and choice.
- Provide companionship and social support.
- Assist with shopping and community access where required.
- Follow individual care plans, workplace policies and secure work practices.
- Maintain accurate service records and promptly report incidents, concerns or changes in a client's wellbeing.
- Respect client privacy, confidentiality and cultural preferences.

Essential requirements

- Current National Police Certificate and any additional screening required for the role under applicable aged care legislation.
- Current Australian working rights.
- Current driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle where required.
- Manual handling training or willingness to obtain the required training before commencing relevant duties.
- Up-to-date immunisations in accordance with applicable workplace requirements.




- Ability to communicate effectively, work independently and treat older people with respect.
- Willingness to complete all required training, screening and compliance checks before commencing work.

Qualifications and experience

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or equivalent) is highly regarded, particularly for roles involving personal care.
- Previous experience supporting older people or working in community care is desirable.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is desirable or may be required depending on duties.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and providing safe, person-centred care.

Gwandalan Aged Care Services is currently undergoing the registration and approval process with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. This position is being advertised in preparation for the establishment of our services. Commencement of employment and service delivery will be subject to the required registration, approvals and operational readiness.

Pay: $26.44 – $30.00 per hour
