Head Housekeeper / Hotel Service Manager

About Us

We are an established accommodation provider in Gladstone with a reputation for clean, comfortable rooms and strong guest reviews. We are looking for an experienced Head Housekeeper / Hotel Service Manager to lead our housekeeping and guest services operations.

The Role

You will oversee the daily running of housekeeping and related hotel services. You will lead a team of [number] staff and make sure our rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily housekeeping, laundry and public area operations
- Recruit, train, roster and manage housekeeping staff and supervisors
- Work with Front Office, Maintenance and Food & Beverage to keep room turnover smooth and guests satisfied
- Conduct regular room and property inspections and maintain quality standards
- Manage housekeeping budgets, labour costs, linen and cleaning supplies inventory
- Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with work health and safety,



hygiene and company policies
- Oversee lost property, deep-cleaning schedules and room maintenance reporting
- Prepare performance reports and recommend operational improvements

About You

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in housekeeping or hotel operations
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team
- Robust understanding of hotel standards, inspections and room-status systems
- Experience with budgeting, rostering and inventory control
- Working knowledge of property management systems (e.g. Opera, Cloudbeds, Mews)
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Relevant hospitality or business management qualification (desirable)
- Current First Aid certificate and RSA (desirable)
