About the Centre

Moira Shire Council has a number of aquatic and recreation facilities that are managed by YMCA Victoria. They include two stadiums: Cobram Sports Stadium and Nathalia Sports & Community Centre; an indoor fitness and aquatic centre at the Numurkah Aquatic & Fitness Centre; Seasonal Swimming Pools at Yarrawonga, Cobram, Strathmerton, Numurkah and Nathalia; and the Yarrawonga Foreshore Kiosk and Splash Park.

About the Role

As our fitness instructor, you will be responsible for leading a variety of Aqua Exercise classes and coaching a wide range of clients through your sessions. You must have exceptional communication skills to effectively inform and demonstrate the benefits of participating in our classes. You must also be organised to ensure that our classes run smoothly and efficiently. Candidates with experience in establishing well planned Deep Water and Gentle Water exercise classes will be highly regarded.

This is a casual position, with an hourly rate of $47.52 per hour + superannuation + Y benefits.

About You

You’re fun and energetic with a passion for fitness and aqua aerobics. You will possess exceptional communication skills and can effectively motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals through Aqua Exercise classes. You will have a deep understanding of various training styles and methods, and can cater to the needs of a wide range of clients during our classes and be able to develop rapport with our community.

Our ideal candidate is also highly organised, able to manage their time effectively, and can ensure the smooth running of our classes.

Above all, you will be a team player who can bring your own positive energy and enthusiasm to our team!

You will need experience in taking Aqua Exercise classes to be successful in this role.

Essential Qualifications

- SISSS00127 Aqua Exercise Instruction




- AUSTSWIM Aqua Licence
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- Current AUSactive Registration
- 20 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) every two years, in order to maintain your accredited Fitness Industry registration.
