The Role (Event Facilitators)
We are looking for upbeat, outgoing, and reliable Event Facilitators to host our social events across Melbourne.
From trivia nights and lawn games to casual pizza meet-and-greets and board games, your main job is simple: bring the good vibes and make people feel welcome!
Events range from intimate gatherings to larger community events (where you’ll work alongside a co-host or helper).
What You’ll Do:
- Set Up & Pack Down: Low-stress, straightforward setup (putting out games, signage, or light food/drinks) and tidying up afterwards.
- Host & Facilitate: Welcome residents with warmth, address the group to introduce activities or explain simple game rules, and keep energy levels positive.
- Break the Ice: Help residents start conversations and ensure no one feels left out.
- Capture the Moments: Snap candid photos and short video clips during the event to capture the fun.
- Have a Blast: You’re not just managing the room - you’re an active part of creating a friendly, vibrant atmosphere!
Who You Are:
- A People Person: Confident, charismatic, approachable, and comfortable speaking in front of small-to-medium groups.
- Reliable & Punctual: You show up on time, ready to host with energy and enthusiasm.
- Adaptable: You can read the room, adapt to different social dynamics, and handle minor surprises with a smile.
- Melbourne-Based: Ability to travel to different apartment building locations across Melbourne (access to reliable transport is a plus).
- Prior experience in hospitality, event hosting, MCing, customer service, or community engagement is a bonus, but your personality and attitude matter most!
What’s in It for You?
- Great Pay: Competitive rate of $40/hr, covering your event time including setup and packdown.
- Flexible Roster: Most events occur on weekends, and we reach out a few weeks in advance so you can easily plan your life around your shifts.
- Branded Merch: Free High Neighbour T-shirt for events.
- Purpose-Driven Work: Play a direct role in tackling urban loneliness and building real community connections.
- Growth: Initial 6-month casual role, with opportunities for ongoing fixed or expanded roles as our Melbourne footprint grows.
