We're looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and hands-on gardener to join our friendly team at BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park.

Set alongside Castlemaine's beautiful Botanical Gardens, our award-winning holiday park offers a wonderful outdoor working environment and the opportunity to take a leading role in maintaining and improving our established gardens.

This position would suit someone who enjoys working independently, understands seasonal garden care and takes pride in seeing their work make a difference.

About the Role

Gardening and grounds presentation will be your primary focus. We're looking for someone who can independently assess, plan and prioritise seasonal gardening work, keeping our gardens healthy, attractive and beautifully maintained throughout the year.

You'll bring horticultural knowledge and initiative to the role, identifying what needs attention, recommending improvements and managing your gardening priorities. The position also includes general maintenance and shared responsibility for keeping the park clean, safe and welcoming for guests.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Planning and undertaking seasonal gardening activities, including pruning, planting, weeding, mulching and garden bed maintenance.

· Maintaining established gardens, lawns, landscaped areas and outdoor spaces.

· Monitoring plant health, soil conditions, watering and irrigation requirements.





· Identifying opportunities to improve garden health, appearance and seasonal presentation.

· Independently prioritising gardening tasks and managing your time effectively.

· Operating and maintaining gardening tools, machinery and equipment.

· Undertaking minor repairs and general grounds maintenance.

· Keeping outdoor guest areas clean, tidy, safe and well presented.

· Assisting with bin management, rubbish collection and cleaning of shared guest facilities, including BBQ areas and amenities.

· Helping other team members with general park duties and cleaning tasks when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings both practical gardening experience and a genuine interest in plants and garden care.

You'll ideally have:

· Demonstrated experience maintaining established gardens and landscaped grounds.

· Sound horticultural knowledge, particularly seasonal pruning, plant health and garden maintenance.

· The confidence and initiative to plan and prioritise gardening work without close supervision.

· Experience using gardening machinery, tools and equipment safely.

· Practical skills and willingness to undertake minor repairs and general maintenance.





· Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.

· Reliability, good time management and a positive, versatile attitude.

· A willingness to contribute to the wider team and help with other park duties when needed.

Horticultural qualifications, professional gardening experience or trade skills would be highly regarded, although practical experience and demonstrated ability are equally valued.
