Join the Ivory Team
At Ivory Tuition, we’re building a team of exceptional tutors who are passionate about helping students learn and grow in confidence.
As we prepare for our official launch over the coming month, we’re welcoming applications from talented individuals who would like to be part of Ivory from the beginning. By bringing our tutors on board ahead of launch, we can take the time to carefully select, support and match the right people with students as our services become available.
Why work with Ivory?
Exceptional tutoring deserves exceptional support.
At Ivory, we believe your time is best spent doing what you do best: teaching, inspiring confidence and helping students reach their potential.
That’s why we take care of the work behind the scenes.
At Ivory, matching you with a student is only the beginning. Our team works alongside you throughout their learning journey, providing ongoing support and thoughtfully prepared teaching materials tailored to each student’s individual needs.
Every student. Every lesson. Something made just for them.
For every lesson, our team will prepare a fresh, personalised worksheet designed around your student’s abilities, learning goals and progress. Whether they need extra practice with a challenging concept or more advanced questions to extend their understanding, the resources are created with that individual student in mind.
Rather than spending hours searching for suitable materials or creating worksheets from scratch, you’ll have access to resources prepared specifically for your students.
And, of course, these resources are provided to our tutors at no additional cost.
More time teaching. Less time preparing.
We aim to give our tutors the flexibility, resources and ongoing support they need to deliver exceptional individual lessons, while being part of a team that genuinely values the work they do.
Your role at Ivory
As an Ivory tutor, you’ll provide personalised, individual tutoring to students across Primary School, High School, VCE or IB,
depending on your academic strengths and teaching experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Delivering engaging, individual lessons that build students’ understanding, confidence and academic skills.
· Adapting your teaching approach to suit each student’s abilities, learning goals and areas for improvement.
· Working with Ivory’s team and personalised learning resources to prepare and deliver effective lessons.
· Communicating clearly with students, parents and the Ivory team about learning progress and areas requiring further attention.
· Maintaining accurate lesson records and managing agreed lesson arrangements professionally.
We encourage tutors to bring their own teaching style, ideas and subject expertise to every lesson, with Ivory providing ongoing support throughout the process.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for academically accomplished individuals who are patient, approachable and genuinely enthusiastic about helping students succeed.
Our standard academic requirement is an ATAR of 95 or above.
Previous tutoring experience is welcomed, but is not required for applicants who meet this academic pathway.
We also recognise that academic ability cannot be measured by an ATAR alone. Applicants with an ATAR below 95 may be considered if they have achieved a raw VCE study score of 40 or above in a relevant subject and have at least six months of relevant tutoring experience.
All applicants will be assessed on their subject knowledge, communication skills and ability to explain concepts clearly.
You should also:
· Be at least 18 years old and have completed VCE.
· Have strong knowledge of the subjects and year levels you wish to teach.
· Be reliable, organised and comfortable communicating with students and families.
· Have the right to undertake the proposed tutoring work in Australia.
· Hold, or be willing to obtain before teaching, the appropriate Working with Children Check for paid tutoring.
Versatile tutoring opportunities
We understand that our tutors have their own academic, professional and personal commitments.
You’ll be able to nominate the subjects and year levels you wish to teach, your preferred availability and whether you’d like to tutor in person, online or both.
In person tutoring: A$45 to A$55 per hour, with new tutors starting at A$45 per hour.
Online tutoring: A$35 to A$45 per hour, with new tutors starting at A$35 per hour.
Higher hourly rates are available as tutors continue teaching and meet the applicable progression requirements.
