Salt and Batter is a local fish and chips business offering takeaway, dine-in and online ordering through our website and Uber Eats.

We are seeking an organised and reliable Café / Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, support our team and maintain consistent food quality and customer service.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, you will coordinate day-to-day operations and help improve the business’s service and operational performance. The roster will include evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily takeaway, dine-in and online ordering operations. Prepare staff rosters and supervise, train and support team members. Monitor food quality, presentation, order accuracy and customer service. Manage stock levels, purchasing, supplier communication and wastage. Monitor sales, food costs and labour costs, and report performance to the Director. Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally. Maintain food safety, hygiene,



cleaning and workplace safety procedures. Coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and report repair requirements. Oversee opening, closing and cash reconciliation procedures. Support the planning and assessment of additional lunch service and improvements to dine-in operations.

About You

- Relevant experience managing or supervising a restaurant, café or takeaway food business. Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills. Experience with staff rostering, stock control and daily operational reporting. Understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements. Ability to organise priorities and remain calm during busy service periods. Availability to work evenings and weekends. Relevant hospitality or management qualifications are desirable.

What We Offer

- $42 per hour plus 12% superannuation. Approximately 30 hours per week. Applicable penalty rates, overtime and other award entitlements. The prospect to contribute to the development of a local food business.
