The Chance

Cromer Golf Club is seeking a motivated and experienced Golf Course Foreman to join its progressive and professional course management team.

Reporting to the Course Superintendent, the successful applicant will work closely with the Assistant Superintendent to coordinate daily course maintenance operations and maintain consistently high standards of course presentation.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated turf management professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. The successful applicant will play an important role in staff supervision, agronomic practices, irrigation management and ongoing course development.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and supervise daily golf course maintenance activities to maintain high-quality playing surfaces.
- Lead, train and support course maintenance staff, including staff induction and ongoing development.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of agronomic programs, including fertiliser, chemical and pest management applications.
- Oversee course-wide irrigation operations, including system maintenance, troubleshooting and efficient water management.
- Implement effective bentgrass management practices to maintain and improve playing surface quality.




- Supervise and assist with course construction, renovation and improvement projects.
- Support the implementation of workplace health and safety procedures and environmental management practices.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of course presentation, maintenance standards and operational efficiency.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- A strong work ethic, initiative and a commitment to achieving high standards.
- Experience in golf course maintenance and turf management.
- Strong leadership, organisational and staff management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a professional team.
- Practical knowledge of irrigation maintenance and water management.
- An understanding of bentgrass management and the production of high-quality playing surfaces.
- A sound understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) and environmental management requirements.
- A genuine passion for golf and a desire to develop a long-term career within the golf industry.

Qualifications

- A Certificate IV, Diploma or other qualification in Turf Management or a related field would be highly regarded.
- AQF Level 3 chemical application certification, or an equivalent qualification, is desirable.
