About the role

An opportunity to join the KAB team as the new Quality Engineer has become available. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that CVG products meet the relevant National, International, CVG Internal and KAB Seating Internal Standards; including legislative requirements as required by the relevant stakeholders in relation to Engineering innovation and new products. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Quality Engineer will ensure the administrative maintenance and compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and other quality standards in all Australian KAB/CVG locations.

Key responsibilities

- Provide input and advice on the correct selection/application and design of products to internal and external customers
- Develop and manage new product introductions to suit customer specifications from concept through to completion
- Complete and manage Engineering Change Requests for continuing product development to suit customer requirements
- Perform physical testing on prototypes in conjunction with third party consultants




- Ensure that product meets all relevant internal and external standards and regulatory requirements to suit its intended application
- Conduct customer site visits as required for product reviews and technical support to major customers
- Develop and supply customer models and drawings of product range as requested
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 requirements
- Complete quality assurance checks on product as required
- Champion Non-conformance root cause investigations and development and implementation of corrective actions
- Assist purchasing to monitor quality of suppliers in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 requirements
- Assist in the engagement of key stakeholders in QMS and SEMS reviews and implementation to ensure compliance in conjunction with the Systems Administrator

About you

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferable but not required)
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in similar roles
- LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
- Sound understanding of safety management and quality management requirements in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office suites
- Excellent team building and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
