We are seeking a personable Part Time Billing Support Officer (onsite) based at our head office at Macquarie University Hospital Clinic.

The role reports to the Finance Manager and will join our small team, providing exceptional support to the neurosurgeons, their patients and support staff. This is a very hands-on role.

Hours: 10-15 hours per week, onsite

Flexibility with working days and start/finish times.

Strong attention to detail and well-developed organisational skills.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Organised, approachable, and comfortable supporting a busy specialist practice

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in a healthcare/surgical/medical environment is highly desirable.

Administration or accounts support experience and someone who enjoys helping patients, learning medical billing processes, and working as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Most important is enthusiasm, the ability to learn thoroughly and quickly.

In addition, we are happy to provide training and support to someone who is keen to develop their skills and grow.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparing surgery quotes and patient billing.

Support management of patient accounts and outstanding balances.

Respond to patient enquiries regarding fees, payments, and rebates.

Assist with weekly invoicing and Medicare submissions.

Managing WorkCover billings

Liaise with patients, doctors,



hospitals, and health funds regarding billing matters.

Provide administrative support, including onboarding documentation for new doctors and validation of relevant medical registrations.
