We are seeking a reliable, hands-on and motivated Second-in-Charge Warehouse / Store man to join our team at our Dandenong South warehouse.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional who can support the Warehouse Supervisor in the day-to-day running of warehouse operations, help lead the warehouse team and ensure goods are received, stored and dispatched efficiently and accurately.

About the Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will play an important role in supporting daily warehouse operations and providing leadership to the warehouse team. You will assist with coordinating workloads, maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring a safe, clean and organised working environment.

We are looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on with warehouse duties while also taking responsibility for helping the team achieve its daily operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with the daily coordination and smooth running of warehouse operations.

Support and guide warehouse staff, helping allocate tasks and monitor workflow.

Lead by example, promoting teamwork, accountability and a positive workplace culture.

Receive, check and process incoming goods, ensuring deliveries match purchase orders and documentation.

Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders accurately and within required timeframes.

Coordinate stock movements, transfers and the correct storage and labelling of products.





Assist with stock control, cycle counts and regular stocktakes, investigating and reporting discrepancies.

Ensure stock is stored correctly and stock rotation procedures, including FIFO where applicable, are followed.

Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely, where appropriately licensed.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring aisles, work areas and emergency exits remain clear.

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and encourage safe work practices across the team.

Identify operational issues and assist with implementing improvements to warehouse efficiency.

Provide support to the Warehouse Supervisor during periods of absence or increased workload.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Previous experience in a warehouse or stores environment.

Experience in a senior store person, team leader or second-in-charge role, or the ability to demonstrate strong leadership potential.

Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.

Solid attention to detail and a commitment to accurate stock control.

A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to assist wherever needed.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.

A proactive attitude towards workplace safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement.

The ability to work independently, make sound decisions and take responsibility.

Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse or inventory systems.

A current forklift licence is highly regarded.
