Fidel Cafe is a modern cafe located at Excelsia University College in Pennant Hills, NSW. We offer high quality coffee and a gourmet menu featuring fresh ingredients, seasonal produce and contemporary cafe style dishes.. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- A skilled and motivated Cook to join our team. The successful applicant will have practical commercial kitchen experience, a passion for preparing quality meals and the ability to work efficiently in a busy cafe environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and cook a variety of cafe style meals including breakfast, lunch, light meals and other menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with menu preparation and development, including estimating food requirements, selecting ingredients and contributing ideas for seasonal dishes.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels, inspect ingredients for quality and freshness and assist with ordering and storage of food supplies.
- Ensure food is prepared, stored and handled in accordance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
- Monitor cooking equipment and kitchen cleanliness,



ensuring work areas are maintained in a safe and hygienic condition.
- Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to ensure meals are served promptly during busy service periods
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain compliance with relevant food safety standards.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate will have:

- Relevant commercial cooking experience in a cafe, restaurant or similar food service workplace.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen operations.
- Ability to prepare a range of meals consistently and efficiently in a busy kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling prectices.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks during service periods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house team members.
- A reliable, professional and positive approach to work.

Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery and/or equivalent practical experience will be highly regarded

WHAT WE OFFER

- Full-time employment with a salary of $80,000. per annum plus Superannuation
