Assistant Director (2IC) – Early Childhood Education | Pagewood

Are you a Diploma-qualified Room Leader, Educational Leader or senior educator who’s ready for the next step? We’re a privately owned, family‑run early learning group, and we’re looking for an Assistant Director (2IC) to join our established leadership team at our Pagewood centre.

This is a genuine leadership role, not a title on paper. You’ll work closely with our experienced Centre Director as her right hand, be mentored one–on–one, and be supported with fully funded training to grow your leadership skills.

Live in the eastern suburbs or south‑east Sydney? Pagewood is a short trip from Maroubra, Randwick, Kensington, Mascot, Botany and Eastlakes.

What you’ll do





- Support the Centre Director with daily operations, rostering and ratios
- Mentor, guide and develop educators and Room Leaders
- Help lead compliance with the NQF, NQS and education and care regulations
- Support programming, documentation and quality practice under the EYLF
- Contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with children, families and educators
- Act as Responsible Person and lead the centre when the Centre Director is away

What you’ll bring

- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher (Bachelor of ECE welcome)
- Experience as a 2IC, Room Leader, Educational Leader or senior educator
- Strong working knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, NQF and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A positive, proactive, team‑focused approach
- Current NSW Working with Children Check and First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- A genuine passion for children’s learning and for developing educators

- $79,000–$86,600 per year + super (approx. $88.5k–$97k package incl. 12% super)
