Role Description The Consultant role at Simplex Advisory is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. In this role, the Consultant will analyze construction contracts and project documentation, identify and assess contractual and commercial risks, and prepare clear, structured advisory reports for clients. Daily responsibilities include supporting claims preparation and evaluation, contributing to dispute resolution strategies, and providing independent advice on project delivery and commercial frameworks.

The Consultant will collaborate closely with senior consultants and clients, participate in meetings and workshops, and assist in developing methodologies, tools, and templates to improve the quality and consistency of advisory services.



The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices relevant to construction and contract management.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contracts, technical documentation, and project information.
- Experience or education in construction, engineering, law, quantity surveying, project management, or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare structured reports, recommendations, and presentations for clients.
- Sound understanding of construction contract frameworks, commercial risk, and dispute resolution processes, or a demonstrated ability to develop this expertise.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work accurately under time constraints in a consulting environment.
- Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships and collaborate effectively within a small, high-performing team.
- Proficiency with common business software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and comfort working with data and documentation.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and prior experience in consulting, construction, or contract administration are highly beneficial.
