ABOUT THE ROLE

An opportunity is available for an Associate to join an established health law team in Melbourne, advising clients across the healthcare sector on a range of contentious matters.

The role involves representing organisations and professionals in healthcare-related disputes, working closely with clients and other stakeholders to navigate sensitive and often complex issues.

You will:

- Manage matters from initial assessment through to resolution
- Prepare clear, practical advice and recommendations for clients
- Coordinate investigations, gather evidence and liaise with relevant parties
- Represent clients at mediations, hearings and other formal proceedings
- Work closely with clients, counsel and external legal teams
- Develop and maintain strong skilled relationships
- Contribute to the growth of the practice and help support junior team members

ABOUT YOU

You will ideally have:

- At least 3 years' PAE
- Experience in health law, professional indemnity, insurance litigation or related disputes




- Experience acting for defendants or insurers, which would be advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build rapport with a range of clients and professional stakeholders
- Sound judgement, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving
- Confidence managing matters independently while working collaboratively
- An interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team development
