Your creator network is the job. DonateOpen is hiring its first Head of Creator Partnerships in Australia to bring established Australian creators onto a new revenue layer and make their launches succeed. Full-time or fractional. We pay for results.
About DonateOpen
DonateOpen lets audiences donate to a specific video, article, podcast episode or lecture after they have watched, read or listened to it. No subscription, no paywall: a thank you for work that already proved its value. Every donation is also a public quality signal. Donations feed creator profiles and rankings that reward substance over clickbait.
We work alongside Patreon, YouTube and Substack, not instead of them. Creators add a new revenue line without moving their audience anywhere.
DonateOpen was founded by economist Alexander Dolgin, author of The Future of Money, who has spent two decades studying how to make quality visible. Several established creators have already joined and are receiving donations on the platform. Our co-founder is based in San Francisco.
The role
You will own our relationships with top Australian creators, from the first conversation to the first donations, and build our first presence in the Australian market. This is a creator-side role. It is not brand-side influencer marketing: you will not be buying sponsored posts for brands. You will be bringing creators onto a platform and helping them win there.
What you will do
- Bring established Australian creators onto DonateOpen through your own relationships, warm introductions, and their managers and agencies.
- Lead the pitch and the close. Explain post-consumption donations in each creator's language and agree a launch plan.
- Run launches end to end: setup,
the first call to action to their audience, first donations and the first 30 days.
- Bring creator feedback to product and shape the profile and ranking features creators care about.
- Turn what works into a repeatable playbook, a tracked pipeline and a referral loop where creators bring creators.
Your first 30 days
- 10+ creators with 500,000+ YouTube subscribers in active conversations, mostly from your own network.
- At least 5 creators launched: page live and the first announcement made to their audience.
- A documented launch playbook and pipeline we can scale.
Who you are
- 5+ years in the creator economy: creator partnerships, talent management, creator success, or partnerships at a podcast, newsletter or video network.
- A first-person network of Australian creators: people who will take your call. Ideally across YouTube, podcasts, Substack, education, journalism, science, economics and culture.
- You know the Australian creator ecosystem: its management companies, agencies and podcast networks.
- You have personally led creator launches or deals and can share the results.
- You are based in Australia and comfortable with some calls that overlap US hours.
Probably not a fit: if your experience is mainly brand-side influencer marketing (paid campaigns, gifting or UGC) without long-term direct relationships with creators.
Compensation
We pay for results.
- 30-day proving stage. The first 30 days are where you show you can bring creators onto the platform. During this stage you earn USD 300 to 2,000 for every creator who launches successfully, scaled by audience size. A launch counts as successful when the creator receives USD 500 in donations within 30 days.
- After you reach the 30-day goals, we move you onto a fixed arrangement, whichever fits you: a full-time salary in the range of AUD 90,000 to 130,000 plus superannuation and equity, or a fractional monthly retainer of USD 1,500 to 4,000 depending on scope (as an independent contractor running your own business with an ABN, free to set your own schedule and keep other clients). Per-creator bonuses continue on top.
These ranges are our positive-faith estimate at the time of posting. The final offer depends on experience and scope.
Why we work this way: we are an early-stage company, and we would rather build a long-term role around proven results than around promises.
How to apply
Apply on LinkedIn and answer the screening questions. Shortlisted candidates get three short written questions, answered privately: we will not contact any creator you name without your permission. The process has three steps: a 30-minute intro call with the founders; a 45-minute practical session where you walk us through the first ten creators you would approach and how you would pitch DonateOpen to them; and an offer. We reply to every applicant within 10 days.
If you are excited about this role but do not match every bullet, apply anyway. Your relationships matter more than your title.
