Laneways Physiotherapy u0026 Lymphoedema I For People in Larger Bodies + Lymph, Lipoedema u0026 Oncology

Melbourne

Laneways is an independent physiotherapy practice delivering thoughtful, high-quality care, with a distinctive clinical focus on the assessment and management of people in larger bodies.

This is an opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to build on their clinical skills, develop their own areas of interest and contribute to the growth of a practice with a transparent and evolving clinical focus.

The role is around 3 days per week, with flexible hours to fit your life and the potential to increase your hours over time.

- Flexible hours and work-life balance
- Clinical mentoring and professional development
- Help build a practice with distinctive clinical expertise in caring for people in larger bodies

About the roleBased in Fitzroy North, Melbourne, approximately 5 km from the CBD, Laneways has a varied caseload including musculoskeletal physiotherapy, persistent pain, rehabilitation, exercise prescription, hypermobility, deconditioning and complex health presentations. Clients access care through private funding, NDIS and aged care arrangements.

With 60-minute initial appointments and 45-minute reviews, you'll have time to undertake thorough assessments, apply your clinical reasoning and develop individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.

A distinctive part of the role is working with people in larger bodies, including those accessing medical weight management as well as those wanting to improve their health, movement and function at their current body size. This requires thoughtful clinical assessment and an understanding of how body size and individual circumstances may influence movement, exercise, pain and rehabilitation.

There are also opportunities to develop clinical knowledge and skills in lymphoedema, lipoedema and oncology rehabilitation. Previous experience in these areas isn't required.

Why join Laneways?

- Flexibility that fits your life: Around three days per week, with flexibility in how your hours are arranged. Clinicians with commitments outside work, including parents, are encouraged to apply. There's no expectation that you want to work full-time.
- Time to deliver good care: Longer appointments allow time for thorough assessment, clinical reasoning and individualised treatment, without rushing through appointments.
- Clinical support and mentoring: Work closely with an experienced physiotherapist and practice director, with opportunities for regular case discussions, clinical reasoning and support with complex presentations. You'll have autonomy in your day-to-day practice while knowing guidance is available when needed.

- Invest in your development: Access in-house professional development, mentoring and an annual budget for external courses. Build on your existing strengths and explore areas such as lymphoedema, lipoedema and oncology rehabilitation.
- Help shape a growing practice: Contribute to service development and the evolution of Laneways' clinical offerings. A move to a purpose-built practice space is planned over the next 6–12 months, creating further opportunities to contribute ideas as the practice grows.
- Opportunities beyond clinical appointments: For those interested, there may be opportunities to teach, present, share clinical knowledge and build professional connections.

These are welcome, but not essential to the role.

Depending on your interests and the needs of the practice, work may include clinic appointments, home visits and telehealth. About youThe ideal candidate will:

- Be curious, reflective and committed to ongoing learning.
