NGM Group

Newcastle

- Play a key role in complex procurement supporting significant programs of work across NGM Group.
- Use your stakeholder engagement skills, commercial judgement, and critical thinking to shape solutions that make an impact and deliver strong business outcomes.
- Permanent, full time role | Hybrid work arrangements on offer | Based in Newcastle.

Purpose of the role

At NGM Group, helping our customers and communities thrive is at the heart of what we do. Procurement plays an important role in making this possible, bringing commercial expertise, strong supplier relationships, and effective risk management to the programs and services shaping our organisation’s future.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Category Manager to deliver complex, high-value, and higher-risk procurement activities across Technology & Enterprise Operations, including key transformation programs of work across the Group.

Working across the procurement lifecycle, you’ll coordinate sourcing and contracting activities, provide commercial and procurement advice, and work with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve timely, commercially sound, and compliant outcomes while managing third-party risk.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll bring strong procurement expertise, commercial judgement, and critical thinking, while also sharing your knowledge and supporting more junior members of the team.

What Success Looks Like

- Lead complex, high-value, and higher-risk procurement activities from requirements definition through to contract execution, meeting agreed timeframes, quality standards, and governance requirements.
- Develop and deliver sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation strategies aligned with category plans, business requirements, and NGM Group priorities.
- Negotiate supplier and contract outcomes that demonstrate value for money and balance commercial, service, operational, and risk considerations.
- Provide clear, evidence-based procurement advice and recommendations to support informed and timely decision-making.
- Coordinate procurement workstreams, stakeholders, dependencies, risks, and issues to support successful delivery. Apply procurement governance, delegations, and third-party risk requirements, including applicable CPS 230 and CPS 234 obligations.
- Use market, supplier, spend,

and cost analysis to identify commercial value, efficiencies, demand-management opportunities, and other financial or non-financial benefits.

What You'll Bring

- Strong experience delivering end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities in a complex or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop fit-for-purpose sourcing strategies and undertake complex supplier negotiations to achieve value, efficiency, and balanced risk outcomes.
- Sound commercial judgement and critical thinking, with the ability to analyse markets, suppliers, spend, costs, and risk, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, coordinate multiple priorities, and deliver agreed outcomes.
- Practical knowledge of procurement governance and third-party risk requirements, including operational resilience, information security, business continuity, and exit planning.
- Experience supporting significant programs of work or organisational transformation, with experience in technology, payments, banking, or financial services procurement highly regarded.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to share knowledge, mentor, and support more junior team members.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, with CIPS accreditation or an equivalent procurement credential desirable.
