ROUSSOS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Design Manager for an opportunity within the commercial construction sector.

With a strong focus on design and construct delivery, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with builders, consultants and clients to develop practical, commercially sound design solutions. The Role

As Design Manager, you will coordinate and manage design activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design documentation, consultant input and construction requirements are aligned with project objectives.

Working closely with builders, consultants and internal delivery teams, you will play a key role in balancing design intent with buildability, programme, cost and quality requirements. Your ability to communicate effectively,



resolve design challenges and build productive working relationships will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage design coordination from early planning through to construction delivery.
- Oversee architectural drawings, specifications, tender documentation and design packages.
- Coordinate consultants and ensure design information is accurate and delivered in line with project programmes.
- Work collaboratively with builders and construction teams to achieve practical, buildable design solutions.
- Integrate design requirements with construction methodology, commercial objectives, quality and safety.
- Identify and manage design risks, discrepancies and technical issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders to support effective communication and timely decision-making.

About You

You are an architecturally qualified professional with commercial construction experience and the confidence to manage design processes within a project delivery environment. You understand the relationship between design and construction and can bring consultants, builders and project teams together to achieve successful outcomes.

You will bring:





- A degree in Architecture.
- Experience within the commercial construction industry.
- Design management or design coordination experience on building projects.
- An understanding of architectural documentation, specifications and consultant coordination.
- Commercial awareness and an appreciation of construction methodology and buildability.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build lasting relationships across the industry.
