About the role

We’re looking for an HSEQ Business Partner to support our AE Smith and Nuvo teams across Victoria, with a particular focus on strengthening quality management.

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Group Head of HSEQ, you’ll work closely with project managers, service delivery managers, supervisors and technicians across construction, service and maintenance. You’ll spend regular time on site, including supporting our major Melbourne CBD central plant upgrade.

You’ll help teams understand what good looks like, put practical processes in place and demonstrate the quality of their work to our clients. Alongside broader HSEQ support, you’ll have the opportunity to improve how we manage inspections, testing, documentation and handover.

What you’ll be doing

- Building trusted relationships with operational leaders and field teams, providing practical HSEQ advice and support.
- Translating ISO 9001 requirements into processes that work on site.
- Helping teams develop and maintain inspection and test plans, checklists, testing records and handover documentation.
- Supporting investigations into defects, non-conformances and incidents, with corrective actions that address the underlying issues.




- Providing hands-on safety support through site engagement, inspections, risk assessments and coaching.
- Improving and simplifying our systems, including opportunities for digital tools and automation.
- Contributing to audits, client reporting and Group improvement projects, sharing lessons across the business.

About you

You understand operational environments because you’ve spent time in them. You can have a practical conversation with a technician, work through an issue with a project manager and confidently advise a senior leader.

You bring:

- Practical HSEQ experience in construction, building services, electrical, mechanical, logistics, warehousing or another complex operational industry.
- Solid quality management capability, including applying ISO 9001 and improving processes.
- Experience with inspection and testing documentation, non-conformances and corrective actions.
- An understanding of Victorian OHS requirements and a pragmatic approach to managing risk.
- The confidence to challenge constructively, work independently and follow through.
- A current driver licence and willingness to travel regularly to Victorian sites.
- A trade or hands-on operational background would be highly valued.
