Cobb Lane is an artisan bakery located in the popular village of Yarraville, with shopfronts in Richmond Traders, South Melbourne Market, Bennetts Lane (CBD) and our soon to open Kensington store, located in the historic Younghusband heritage building. Alongside our retail stores, we have an established wholesale arm supplying our hand crafted baked goods throughout Melbourne and beyond. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, specialising in slow-ferment sourdoughs and viennoiserie, using the best ingredients available.

Cobb Lane has established a reputation as one of Melbourne's leading artisan bakeries, providing premium baked goods to the city's most renowned venues. Your role will be an integral part of our future.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare hot and cold drinks, ensuring consistent quality & service

• Dial in espresso, manage brew recipes, and maintain equipment with care

• Deliver exceptional service; greet and welcome guests, share product knowledge and assist in offering recommendations

• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally

• Operate the POS and handle transactions accurately

• Maintain a clean and organised storefront





• Ensure product displays are visually appealing and well-stocked

• Assist with stock rotation, storage and inventory

• Maintain food safety standards

• Work collaboratively in a rapid-paced, high volume setting

About you:

• Minimum 2 years experience in specialty coffee

• Minimum 3 years experience in a customer-facing hospitality role

• Proven ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment

• Confident communicator and energetic team player

• Calm under pressure, organised, and detail-oriented

• Passionate about food and hospitality

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

• Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position

- Our coffee program features Dukes Coffee for espresso and we rotate through our favourite local roasters for single origin and filter coffee. Our tea program is by Blak Brews.
