Want to build a career, not just take another admin job?
United REO is looking for a motivated Sales & Estimating Coordinator to become a key part of our growing reinforcing steel business.
This isn't a traditional sales administration role.
You'll be at the centre of our customer and scheduling process – taking ownership of incoming enquiries, understanding what our customers need, assisting with estimating and quotations, processing orders and ensuring jobs move efficiently through to our Scheduling and Production teams.
You'll work closely with and support the team while developing a strong understanding of our customers, reinforcing steel, construction drawings, estimating, scheduling and production.
For someone with the right attitude and capability, this role has genuine potential to develop into estimating, scheduling, sales, account management, project coordination or leadership as United REO continues to grow.
About United REO
United REO Pty Ltd is a rapidly growing South Australian reinforcing steel business servicing residential, commercial, civil and infrastructure projects.
Operating from our modern Kilburn facility, we've invested in state-of-the-art reinforcing machinery, technology and systems to support our continued growth.
United REO is part of United Group Australia, a South Australian family-owned group operating across reinforcing steel, crane hire and rigging, and precast concrete.
The Role
You'll become an important link between our customers, sales, estimating, scheduling and production teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of incoming customer enquiries from initial contact
- Responding promptly to new and existing customer enquiries
- Understanding customer requirements and determining what information is required
- Reviewing plans, drawings, specifications and customer documentation
- Assisting with take-offs, estimating and preparing quotations
- Following up quotations and outstanding customer enquiries
- Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Ensuring all required information is obtained before jobs progress
- Preparing jobs and documentation for handover to the Scheduling team
- Supporting the Scheduling Manager with workflow and customer priorities
- Liaising with customers regarding orders, drawings, schedules, deliveries and job progress
- Following up missing drawings, specifications or information
- Helping manage outstanding enquiries and ensuring customers receive timely responses
- Maintaining accurate customer, quotation and order information
- Working with Scheduling and Production to understand capacity, priorities and delivery requirements
- Building robust relationships with builders, contractors and existing customers
- Identifying opportunities to improve our customer service and internal processes
As your knowledge develops, there will be opportunities to become increasingly involved in estimating, reinforcing scheduling, customer account management and project coordination.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who likes taking ownership and getting things moving.
You may already have experience in reinforcing steel, construction, estimating, scheduling, building products, structural steel or manufacturing – or you may be an exceptional coordinator with strong technical aptitude who is ready to learn.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience in sales administration, estimating, scheduling, project coordination or customer service
- Experience within construction, reinforcing steel, structural steel, manufacturing or building products would be highly regarded
- Confidence dealing directly with customers
- Strong organisation and follow-up skills
- The ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities at once
- Good numerical and problem-solving ability
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to read or understand construction/engineering drawings would be highly regarded
- Experience with estimating, take-offs or scheduling would be an advantage
- Good computer and systems skills
- A proactive attitude – you don't wait for someone else to chase things
- A genuine interest in learning and developing your career
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can take ownership of an enquiry, follow it through and make sure the customer gets an answer.
