Cordwells is looking for an experienced Boilermaker/Fabricator to join our team.
We're after someone who can:
✅ Weld steel
✅ Fabricate components
✅ Repair quarry and concrete equipment
✅ Fix the thing that broke five minutes before knock-off
✅ Explain to management why it wasn't broken yesterday
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and welding of steel components
- Maintenance and repair of quarry and civil equipment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- General workshop duties
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintaining housekeeping and workshop presentation standards
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder
- Solid welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings as well as decipher maintenance requests such as "It's making a funny noise" and "It just stopped".
- Commitment to workplace health and safety - explaining that paint is not a structural repair method.
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude especially when someone says, "Can you just have a quick look at this?" and points to half the quarry.
