About the Organisation
Our client is Australia's leading peer-led youth trauma recovery organisation, dedicated to supporting at-risk youth aged 8-17. Their mission is to empower young people by fostering healing and resilience through shared experiences. They do this by creating safe spaces, where young people with lived experience support each other to heal from trauma, make meaningful peer connections, improve mental wellbeing and overcome life challenges.

About the Role
As a full-time Case Worker in Rockhampton you will play an integral role in the organisation's ability to support at risk young people through the regional reset program. This program has been developed with the intention to divert young people who are displaying a pattern of early criminal and/or anti-social behaviour, from the criminal justice system.

This role is fixed-term to September 2029.

You will work alongside two Peer Mentors assisting young people through an 18-week program, involving the following:

- Provide case management for approximately 20 young people at one time, with some overlap between groups of young people
- Engage with young people guided by trauma-informed practice, open dialogue principals and culturally safe practices
- Work closely and collaboratively within community, referring agencies and service providers
- Provide high-quality safe and effective support to young people, within the context of policies, procedures, and legislation
- Attend regular supervision sessions and meetings as necessary
- Participate in supervision (operational and clinical) to ensure that a high-level of practice is delivered and maintained
- Maintain high standards in the record keeping of client records, ensuring that case records are kept up to date and are accurate.
- Undertake risk assessments on young people and provide appropriate follow-up and intervention
- Participation in training as required





Please note this role requires availability both outside of normal business hours and across weekends on an ongoing basis. Successful applicants will be required to attend 12 weekend workshops across a 12-month period.

About You
As an experienced and enthusiastic case, social or youth worker with a passion for working with young people, you will be proactive and driven with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following attributes as a minimum:

- Diploma of Youth Work or related discipline OR 2+ years' experience working with vulnerable populations within a case management lens
- Sound knowledge of the challenges and issues experienced by young people affected by crime or the justice system
- Strong communication skills with experience developing community networks and establishing/increasing community engagement
- Sound risk assessment skills including but not limited to suicide risk, psychological distress and mandatory reporting
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong written skills and experience using case record management systems
- Have understanding of and capability to engage with people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds, treating everyone with fairness and respect.
- Experience in group work, family group conferencing, family therapy and/or participation in open dialogue treatment is preferred.

Essential Requirements

- Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- National Police Record Check
- Willingness to obtain First Aid Certificate
- A current valid Queensland drivers' license
