About the role
United Cranes & Rigging Pty Ltd (UCR) is a dynamic & young-minded crane and rigging company with a strong reputation for getting the job done safely, professionally and reliably.

We are growing and are looking for experienced Open Crane Operators to work across mobile and tower crane in a full-time or casual position based from our Kilburn depot, with work across Adelaide and surrounding areas.

You will join a supportive team, work with up-to-date, well-maintained equipment and enjoy a genuine variety of work—no two days are the same.

UCR is part of United Group Australia, a family-owned South Australian group operating across crane hire, reinforced steel, precast concrete and property development.

The role

Working across a range of construction and lifting projects, you will safely operate crane equipment and support rigging activities to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes for our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

- Safely operating open cranes to lift, lower and position loads.

- Completing daily pre-start inspections and reporting faults or defects promptly.

- Reading and working within load charts, lift plans and site requirements.

- Communicating clearly with doggers, riggers, ground crews and site supervisors.

- Assisting with rigging, load securing and general lifting operations as required.

- Working across both mobile and tower crane projects.

- Following all company, client-site and legislative safety requirements.

- Monitoring changing weather and site conditions and stopping work where unsafe.

- Maintaining accurate operational, inspection and maintenance records.

About you

You are a reliable, safety-focused operator who takes pride in your work and works well as part of a team. You understand that good lifting work depends on planning, communication and everyone going home safely.

To be successful, you will have:

- A current CO Crane Operator High Risk Work Licence—highly regarded.





- Experience operating open cranes in construction, crane hire or similar environments.

- A willingness and capability to work as a Rigger on both mobile and tower crane projects.

- Sound knowledge of safe lifting practices, load charts, rigging and weight calculations.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with site teams.

- A current HR or HC licence—preferred.

- A current Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one.

- Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

- A strong attendance record, flexibility and a professional attitude.

- A commitment to following safety procedures at all times.

- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test, with ongoing testing applicable.
