About the role

Cairns Recycling is seeking a reliable, hands-on Senior Yard Hand to join our team. This is a practical hands-on role for someone who takes initiative, supports their co-workers and can help keep the depot secure, hygienic, organized and running efficiently.

Key responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service and accurate cash handling.
Oversee and assist with daily yard operations, customer-focused recycling services, stock control and general site management.
Maintain a clean, hygienic, safe and organized depot, with workplace health and safety being of the utmost importance.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Support and guide co-workers, in addition to the coordination of the day-to-day tasks so the required work gets done.
Maintain accurate digital records using our computer-based systems in place.
Work across our multiple locations as required.

Basic computer, maths and English skills.
A team-focused approach and willingness to get hands-on.
Physical fitness, a qualified presentation and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
A commitment to site hygiene, safety and maintaining workplace standards.
Flexibility to work across a seven-day operating week, including the weekends.
Desirable: Current forklift license.
Desirable: Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
