The opportunity

Our client is looking for a commercially sharp National Account Manager to own and grow its key construction accounts nationally (e.g. Mitre 10). You’ll be the main contact for major builders, trade distributors and construction partners. You’ll build strategic partnerships that deliver long-term growth.

What you’ll do
Manage and grow a portfolio of national construction and trade accounts, owning revenue, margin and volume targets
Build and deliver joint business plans, trading terms and account strategies
Develop relationships at every level, from site and procurement teams to senior decision-makers
Find new business with builders, developers and commercial construction partners
Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, Technical and Category teams to deliver innovation, specification wins and customer programs




Lead commercial negotiations, pricing and promotional investment with discipline
Use market and customer insights to spot trends, competitor activity and growth opportunities

What you’ll bring
Proven key or national account management experience in construction, building products, trade or a related B2B channel
A solid track record of growing revenue and margin with major customers
Confident negotiation skills and solid commercial and financial acumen
The ability to build trusted relationships and influence at senior levels
Strong planning, analytical and presentation skills
A tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing or similar is highly regarded
