About Us

Common Room Co. is a busy, established neighbourhood café in Caulfield North, known for quality food, specialty coffee and friendly service.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in maintaining high kitchen standards, leading the team and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and lead service when required.
Maintain food quality, consistency, presentation and portion control.
Train, mentor and provide clear direction to kitchen staff.
Assist with ordering, stock control, food costing and waste reduction.
Contribute to seasonal menu development and new dishes.
Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation.
Communicate effectively with FOH and management.

About You
Minimum 3 years' kitchen experience, preferably as Chef de Partie or above.
Strong cooking skills and experience in a busy café or restaurant.
Organised, reliable and confident under pressure.
Good communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Positive attitude,

Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
