Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans menus in close collaboration with the Head Chef.
Assists the Head Chef with scheduling and coordinating the work of other kitchen employees to ensure food preparation is economical, technically correct, and within budgeted labor cost goals.
Approves requisitions for products and other necessary food supplies.
Ensures high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times.
Establishes controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft.
Safeguards all food preparation employees by implementing training to increase their knowledge about safety procedures, proper food handling, and hazard prevention.

Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment.
Proven skills and experience in the field and industry, including menu planning and food preparation.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including scheduling and coordination of kitchen staff.
Experience with inventory control, product requisitioning,



and supply management.
Solid understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards in food service.
Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff on safety and food handling practices.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work within budgeted labor cost goals.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Robust communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen employees.
