Osborne Richardson is assisting a Melbourne council with the recruitment of a Parking Officer on a contract basis. This is a great chance for a customer-focused compliance professional to help keep local streets safe, accessible and fair for the community.

About the Role

Working as part of a close-knit regulatory team, you’ll patrol the municipality, enforce parking and road rules, and respond to community requests, all while delivering fair, qualified and consistent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Patrol designated areas on foot and by vehicle to enforce parking restrictions and local law requirements
Issue infringement notices accurately and in line with legislation, policy and procedure
Respond to community complaints and requests relating to parking, abandoned vehicles and obstructions
Provide clear, courteous advice to residents, businesses and visitors,



including when handling difficult interactions
Prepare accurate notes, reports and evidence to support infringement reviews and prosecutions
Support school safety and shopping precinct parking initiatives
Use handheld devices and enforcement systems to record and manage data

What You’ll Bring
Experience in parking enforcement, local laws, or a customer service or compliance role
Sound knowledge of road rules and parking legislation (highly regarded)
Excellent communication and conflict de-escalation skills
Robust attention to detail with a high standard of record keeping and report writing
Confidence working independently outdoors in all weather conditions
Comfort using handheld devices and standard office software
