We supply to retailers including Coles, Woolworths and IGA, making sure that more Tasmanian’s wake up to a Pure Foods egg than any other brand. Pure Foods is committed to its local community and supports numerous not-for-profit organisations across the state.

We are seeking a capable and proactive person to join our Longford farm team.

Tasks & responsibilities

We have a Full Time (38 hours, 5 days per week) position under the Pastoral Award. Work hours are generally 6am to 2pm, however, these hours can vary depending on the needs of the farm. The role is located in Longford.

This role works closely with the senior management team and is a key contributor to the successful delivery of operational outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:




Learning about the care of and maximising the welfare of layer hens
Monitoring and reporting on hen welfare
Routine inspection, cleaning and maintenance (sheds & yards)
Moving chickens from one area of the farm to another
Problem solving – identifying and fixing issues
Biosecurity – limiting the risk of the introduction of pests and diseases that could harm the hens
Collaborating with farm management to continually improve farm operations
Other tasks as directed
