Inside Sales Specialist, Scientific & Laboratory

If you’re in a sales associate, inside sales or sales coordinator role at a large scientific supplier, you know the job well. You turn quotes around quickly, keep orders moving, and know the products better than most of the people asking about them. This role keeps all of that and gives you more of the commercial side, with a smaller team where your work is visible.

About the business

Our client is an established distributor of scientific and laboratory instrumentation across Australia and Recent Zealand. They represent leading global manufacturers and supply research institutions, universities, industrial sites, food producers and clinical laboratories. Continued growth has created a recent seat in the sales team.

What you’ll be doing
Inbound sales: Handle incoming enquiries, qualify opportunities and convert them, with real input into how your accounts grow.
Technical quoting: Prepare, issue and follow up quotes for instruments, spare parts and consumables.
Account management: Act as the main contact for a portfolio of laboratory customers by phone,



email and online, and keep CRM records accurate.
Order management: Process orders, confirm lead times and stock, and coordinate receipting and dispatch.
Working with the wider team: Partner with field sales, logistics and operations so customers get what they were promised, on time.

What you’ll bring
A degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Chemistry or a related scientific field
1+ years in inside sales, sales coordination, scientific customer service or a laboratory role
Confidence explaining technical products to scientists, lab managers and procurement teams
Experience with CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics or similar)
Strong organisation and follow-through when managing a busy pipeline of quotes and orders
A commercial mindset: you notice the add-on, the reorder or the upgrade
