Our Beaudesert operation converts animal by-products into valuable protein meals, fats and oils used in stockfeed, pet food, aquafeed and fertiliser.We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer to provide technical engineering support across the site's electrical, automation and process-control systems.
The role will focus on safe design, system reliability, fault elimination, controls improvement and the successful delivery of electrical and automation projects.About the roleDevelop and implement electrical, instrumentation and control-system improvements that support safe and reliable plant operationProvide advanced fault-finding and root-cause analysis across PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, variable-speed drives, instrumentation and industrial networksPlan and deliver automation, electrical and controls projects from scope development through design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handoverMaintain engineering standards, technical drawings, software backups, change records and asset documentationReview and manage control-system changes to protect system integrity, cybersecurity and operational continuitySupport electrical reliability strategies, preventive maintenance development and lifecycle planning for critical assetsProvide technical guidance to electricians, process-control personnel,



contractors and operational teamsEnsure engineering work complies with applicable legislation, Australian Standards, site procedures and safety requirementsWork closely with production, maintenance, engineering and external suppliers to improve plant performanceWhat you'll bringA degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, Control Systems or a related engineering disciplineDemonstrated industrial experience in electrical engineering, automation or process control within manufacturing, processing, utilities or a similar environmentStrong working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, instrumentation, variable-speed drives and industrial communication networksExperience delivering electrical and controls projects, including commissioning and technical documentationSound understanding of electrical safety, functional risk controls and engineering change managementStrong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skillsA practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively in an operating plant environmentExperience with reliability engineering, hazardous-area equipment, machine safety or functional safetyRPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain registration, where required for the skilled engineering services performedExperience in food, rendering, animal by-product processing or other continuous-process manufacturing
