Williams Equipment Engineering - Torrington QLDWilliams Equipment Engineering is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sandblaster to join our team on a full-time basis in Torrington, QLD ****.
This is a hands-on role that plays a crucial part in our equipment preparation and finishing processes.
As a Sandblaster, you will be responsible for operating sandblasting equipment to remove rust, corrosion, paint, and other contaminants from metal surfaces, ensuring they are properly prepared for coating, welding, or further processing.
Your work is essential to maintaining the quality standards of our equipment and contributing to the success of our projects.Key responsibilitiesOperate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently to clean and prepare metal surfaces for coating or further processingSelect appropriate blasting materials and techniques based on the specific requirements of each jobInspect work areas and equipment before and after use to ensure safety compliance and optimal functioningMaintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encounteredFollow all workplace health and safety procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors regarding project progress and any technical concernsPerform routine maintenance on sandblasting equipment to ensure it remains in working orderMeet quality standards and deadlines whilst maintaining a safe working environmentWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Sandblaster or in a similar surface preparation role within the trades industryStrong understanding of different sandblasting techniques and materials used in the industryValid driver's licence (essential for commuting to Torrington)Excellent health and safety awareness with a commitment to following workplace protocols and wearing PPE correctlyPhysical fitness and ability to perform manual labour for extended periodsAttention to detail and quality craftsmanshipAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable and punctual attendance recordRelevant certifications or qualifications in surface preparation or sandblasting (preferred)Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting (advantageous)Able to pass a pre-employment drug and health assessmentWhat we offerAt Williams Equipment Engineering, we value our employees and are committed to providing a rewarding work environment.
