Job Title: Home Care and Support Assistant
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support with mobility, including safe transfers and use of mobility aids
Help with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining adequate nutrition and hydration
Administer or prompt medication in line with care plans and company policy
Provide companionship and emotional support
Assist with light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping
Support clients with attending appointments or social activities where required
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in a client's condition
Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective care delivery
Adhere to safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately
Skills and Experience:




Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic understanding of health and safety and safeguarding principles
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential)
Willingness to undertake training and development
Other Requirements:
Versatile availability, including evenings and weekends
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable, depending on role)
Enhanced DBS check required
Working Conditions:
Work is carried out in clients' homes
May involve travel between locations
Role can be physically and emotionally demanding
Guaranteed hours
Working in one location supporting regular clients
