Freighter Group is seeking an experienced engineering leader to join our Ballarat team as
Head of Standard Development
.
Reporting to the General Manager Engineering, this role will lead the development, governance and continuous improvement of Freighter Group's standard product portfolio, while managing a team of engineers and technical specialists.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading standard product development and engineering activities.
Driving product standardisation, innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibility for testing, validation, warranty and repair solutions
Managing and developing a team of engineering professionals.
Collaborating with manufacturing, operations and product management teams.




Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering and regulatory standards.
To be successful, you will have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Extensive experience in engineering leadership and product development.
Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated experience in trailer chassis design, development and manufacturing
Solid understanding of trailer chassis engineering, product standards and manufacturing processes.
Experience within manufacturing, transport equipment or a related industry.
Salary:
$200,000+ per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
