Active Fabrications' is seeking a skilled Lathe Operator to join our team in Beenleigh, QLD on a casual basis with Fulltime available to the right person. As a Lathe Operator, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, operating industrial lathes to turn Trailer axles. Your expertise will contribute to the high-quality production of our products, ensuring we meet the demands of our valued clients.
What you'll be doing
Operating industrial lathes to manufacture Trailer Axles to strict tolerances and quality standards
Setting up and adjusting lathe equipment, including selecting and securing the appropriate tools and workpieces
Monitoring machine operations and making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance and product quality
Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on lathe equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition
Collaborating with the production team to identify and implement process improvements
Cutting and preparing the steel.
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Lathe Operator or similar machinist role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment




Strong understanding of metal working principles, lathe operation, and manufacturing processes
Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and equipment
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Valuable problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
