Splash-A-Bout Swim School – Middlemount QLD
We're looking for a confident, safety-focused Team Leader to join our team at Middlemount Aquatic Centre on a casual or part time basis. As the senior operational lifeguard on shift, you'll lead the team, keep patrons safe, coordinate emergency responses and make sure the centre runs smoothly and complies with GSPO supervision requirements. You'll be the Facility Manager's right hand and the person in charge when they're not rostered on.
Key responsibilities
Lead active supervision of all pool areas in line with approved supervision plans and GSPO requirements
Coordinate lifeguard rotations, breaks and zone allocations
Run shift briefings and toolbox talks
Respond to and coordinate rescues, first aid and emergency incidents, including liaising with QAS and QPS
Conduct pre-start and operational safety inspections and keep rescue and first aid equipment ready
Complete incident, hazard and operational records accurately and on time
Deliver friendly, professional customer service and represent Council and Splash in the community
About you




Experience supervising teams or aquatic operations
Strong communication and leadership skills
Excellent situational awareness and a friendly, confident way with the public
Pool Lifeguard qualification (or willingness to obtain)
CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
Oxygen Resuscitation (or willingness to obtain)
SISSS***** Aquatic Technical Operator (Pool Plant Operations) or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Working with Children Check (Blue Card) (or willingness to obtain)
