Senior Data Centre Engineer (12-Month Contract)

This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled team working on a large-scale data centre build project, leveraging modern networking technologies and enterprise-grade platforms.
About the Role
This is a specialist role suited to an engineer with deep data centre expertise rather than a generalist infrastructure background.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute immediately, bringing extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale data centre environments.
The position will primarily support the project, with some operational support responsibilities as required.
Occasional after-hours work will also be required to support project delivery and infrastructure changes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise across Cisco-based data centre environments and associated infrastructure platforms.
Assist with migration, deployment, and optimisation activities within data centre environments.
Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with project teams, infrastructure specialists, and operational support teams.




Contribute to documentation, technical standards, and operational procedures.
Ensure infrastructure solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned to best practice.
Required Skills / Experience
Essential
Extensive experience working as a
Data Centre Engineer
within large enterprise environments.
Proven hands-on experience with:
Cisco ACI
Cisco Nexus (NX-OS)
VXLAN / EVPN
Nexus Dashboard
Cisco MDS SAN
Citrix NetScaler
Strong data centre networking design, implementation, and troubleshooting capability.
Experience delivering infrastructure projects within large and complex environments.
Desirable
Experience with any of the following technologies will be highly regarded:
NVIDIA / Cumulus Linux Switching
EVPN in Cumulus environments
BIND DNS
SmartOptics MUX solutions
AWS Networking
