About the role
Due to growth in the business, we are seeking Casual Educators to join our dynamic team at Oppia Wantirna South This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives. As a Casual Educator, you will support our permanent educators in delivering high-quality childcare and education programs in a warm, welcoming and engaging environment. This role is essential to maintaining continuity of care and ensuring all children receive consistent, developmentally appropriate experiences.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and care for children in accordance with Centre policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements
Assist in planning, preparing and implementing age-appropriate learning activities and experiences that foster children's development across all developmental domains
Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized learning environment
Build positive relationships with children, families and team members
Support children's emotional wellbeing, behaviour guidance and social development
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by centre policies and regulations




Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Uphold and model the centre's values of respect, inclusion and quality care
What we're looking for
A current, valid Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent recognized qualification)
Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain this
A current Working with Children Check
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child development and early childhood pedagogy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong relationships with children and families
The ability to work collaboratively within a team workplace
A genuine passion for working with children and commitment to their wellbeing and learning
Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt to casual shifts
Strong organizational and time management skills
An understanding of and commitment to inclusive practices, cultural diversity and child safety
Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education settings is highly valued
