FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT / HR COORDINATOR | MANUFACTURING | $130K - $140K+ SUPER
If you genuinely understand
inventory accounting, Cost of Goods Sold and the journal entries sitting behind the numbers
, keep reading.
And if you can combine that accounting capability with genuine, hands-on
HR coordination experience
, this could be a very rare opportunity.
Our client is a long-established Australian manufacturer with an excellent reputation, strong leadership and a culture built around trust, accountability and treating good people well.
This isn't a corporate Finance Manager role where you've got layers of people doing the accounting underneath you.
We need someone who knows the numbers, understands the accounting mechanics behind them and isn't afraid to get hands-on.
You'll take ownership of the finance function while also coordinating HR across the business, supported by a grounded and genuinely supportive GM and MD.
THE ACCOUNTING DEPTH WE NEED
You will need robust practical financial accounting experience, preferably gained within
manufacturing, distribution, importing, wholesale or another inventory-driven environment
.
You'll be comfortable with:
Preparing and posting
month-end journal entries
Cost of Goods Sold accounting and journals
Understanding exactly how
inventory movements affect the General Ledger and P&L;
Inventory accounting, adjustments and reconciliations
Accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Investigating discrepancies between inventory, purchasing, costing and financial records
Month-end close and financial reporting
AP, AR, bank and general ledger reconciliations
Cash flow and budgeting support
BAS, compliance, audit preparation and financial controls
Payroll, superannuation and award interpretation
Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information
You don't just run reports. You understand what is happening behind them.
If inventory changes, you understand
why the journal moves,
where it hits the accounts and the impact on COGS, gross margin and the financial statements.
That is the level of accounting knowledge we're seeking.
AND YES, HR EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
The HR component isn't an add-on, and it isn't something we're looking to teach from scratch.
You'll also take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of HR, including:
Employee onboarding and offboarding
Employment contracts and HR documentation
Maintaining employee records and compliance
Policy administration and updates
Training coordination
Employee communication and general HR support
Supporting management across the employee lifecycle
You need to demonstrate
real previous HR coordination experience
alongside your accounting background.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Ideally, you're the slightly unusual combination of someone who genuinely loves
numbers AND people
.
You bring:
Strong financial accounting knowledge, not simply bookkeeping or transactional accounts experience
Hands‐on journal preparation and month‐end accounting capability
Strong inventory and Cost of Goods Sold accounting knowledge
Experience working in an inventory-based environment, ideally manufacturing
Demonstrated HR coordination experience
A meticulous approach to financial accuracy
Strong systems capability and commercial thinking
Warm, confident communication
Integrity, reliability and a genuine sense of ownership
WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE A GOOD JOB FOR THIS ONE?
Because you'll be trusted to do your job.
You'll have genuine ownership, visibility and the backing of senior leaders who value good people rather than micromanage them.
No corporate politics. No disappearing into a huge finance department.
Just a successful Australian business, supportive leadership and a role where
your accounting expertise and people skills will genuinely matter
.
If you're a strong financial accountant who understands
inventory, COGS and journals inside out
, AND you've got genuine HR coordination experience, I'd genuinely like to hear from you.
