. This is a long-term contractual position.

Providing technical expertise to projects and business areas, and leads the technical deliverables;
Maintaining, monitoring and upgrading the
Virtual Service Environment (VSE) environments
and
servers;
Planning, designing, developing, testing and maintaining new or existing virtual service developments in accordance with guidelines and in collaboration with stakeholders;
Configuring and deploying virtual services and servers in accordance with the applications operational model governed by application owners;
Defining and leading the analysis, planning, execution, delivery and performance improvement activities using appropriate tools;
Promoting the adoption of virtual services to ICT stakeholders and project teams through workshops;




Providing support and guidance to project teams for maintaining their own virtual service environments.
Undertaking a range of activities in support of the management and operation of the Department's secure Internet gateway, secure systems, data centre and network services;
Implementing major/minor project work to support Departmental initiatives;
Undertaking enhancement and remediation activities across network and gateway systems;
Managing multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines;
Liaising with external and internal service providers as required;
Providing support with infrastructure capacity and planning including mainframe;
Providing server and networking infrastructure management across geographically dispersed environments;
Providing fleet management and lifecycle oversight of ICT infrastructure assets;
Providing data centre operations management, including service delivery and vendor coordination;
Providing data centre footprint optimisation across commercial and departmental facilities nationwide;
Travelling interstate as required.

About the project: Maritime Vessel ICT Sustainment MVIS/E-CAPES Program – delivering the required high-side and low side ICT infrastructure for the current E-Cape vessel fleet.
