Group Operations & Business Development Manager – NDIS & Youth Services
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Group Operations & Business Development Manager to help develop our registered NDIS provider business and strengthen operational systems across our youth-care services in Cairns. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong operational leadership, NDIS knowledge, youth-care experience and business development skills. The successful candidate will take ownership of establishing the NDIS business from the ground up, building referral networks, recruiting and training staff, implementing compliance systems and improving operational processes across both service areas.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement a practical NDIS business launch and growth strategy
Build professional relationships with support coordinators, allied health providers, community organisations and other referral sources
Generate and manage participant enquiries and coordinate intake and service commencement
Identify suitable service opportunities within our approved NDIS registration scope
Establish participant documentation, service agreements, operational procedures and reporting systems
Monitor business development activity and provide regular progress reports to the Director
Review and improve operational processes, staff communication and documentation
Support consistent shift reporting, handovers, incident reporting and complaint management
Recruit,



interview and onboard suitable disability support workers and youth-care staff as authorised
Coordinate staff inductions, mandatory training and competency assessments
About you
Demonstrated experience in NDIS operations, disability services management or NDIS provider development
Practical understanding of NDIS compliance, complaints management, incident reporting and quality systems
Experience in youth residential care, child safety or a closely related service environment
Strong business development, networking and relationship-building skills
Experience recruiting, onboarding, supervising and training staff
Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and report directly to the Director
Previous experience establishing or growing an NDIS provider from the startup stage (desirable)
Knowledge of Queensland child safety requirements and relevant NNDI Practice Standards (desirable)
Relevant qualifications in business management, disability, community services, social services or a related field (desirable)
