We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our team on a civil construction project in Brisbane. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can lead a small crew, coordinate multiple work fronts and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise a small crew on civil construction and pipe-laying activities.
- Coordinate and manage multiple work fronts running concurrently.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
- Set out and check levels onsite using a dumpy level and pipe laser for pipe installation.
- Carry out pipe laying, pit building and general civil construction duties, remaining hands-on when required.
- Plan daily shifts and ensure the correct tools, plant and equipment are available and utilised for each task.
- Monitor work progress and ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on site safety, quality and productivity.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand or similar supervisory role within civil construction.




- Strong experience in pipe laying, drainage and pit construction.
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings.
- Competent in checking levels and using dumpy levels and pipe lasers.
- Proven ability to organise crews, manage competing priorities and keep multiple work fronts moving.
- Practical, proactive and willing to get on the tools when required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
