An excellent opportunity exists for a Solicitor with 2-4 years' post-admission experience to join a well-regarded dispute resolution practice in Canberra. You will work across a diverse range of contentious matters, including commercial disputes, public law, regulatory investigations and government litigation.
Working closely with experienced practitioners, you will gain exposure to complex and challenging matters while developing your technical expertise and client relationships. The role offers a supportive team environment, with opportunities to take ownership of your work and manage matters with increasing autonomy.
You will:
- Assist with commercial litigation and complex dispute resolution matters
- Work on regulatory investigations, inquiries and commissions
- Advise on public law and government-related litigation
- Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality written advice and submissions
- Assist with dispute strategy, risk assessment and dispute avoidance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across different practice areas and jurisdictions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering practical legal advice
ABOUT YOU
You will have:
- Between 2 and 4 years' post-admission experience,
ideally in dispute resolution or litigation
- Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to quickly understand complex legal issues
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage matters with appropriate autonomy
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering excellent client service
- Solid interpersonal skills and an interest in developing client relationships
- An openness to legal technology and AI-enabled tools
Experience in Federal Court and tribunal proceedings, government litigation or regulatory matters will be highly regarded. Applications from lawyers with relevant dispute resolution experience in other jurisdictions are also encouraged.
