CRG has been engaged by the Shire of East Pilbara to recruit a highly capable Assistant Finance Manager to provide leadership and continuity while the current incumbent is seconded to another division.

This is a hands-on leadership role supporting the Manager Financial Services and Director Corporate Services during a significant ERP digital transformation. You will oversee the Shire's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficient service delivery across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor Coordinators and Finance Officers across creditors, debtors and related functions
- Ensure compliance with the Local Government Act 1995, associated regulations and Australian Accounting Standards
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, and period-end close processes
- Support budgeting, annual financial statements, audit processes and grant acquittals




- Contribute to the design and implementation of a current chart of accounts and finance system as part of the ERP project
- Provide high-quality advice and support to executive and Council as required

Essential Skills, and Experience.

- Proven experience in financial management, ideally within local government or a similar regulated environment
- Strong people leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail
- Clear, professional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable leading through change and system implementation
- High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
- Relocation to the Pilbara is required
- Full Australian work rights are essential.
