Haars Nursery is looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Tradesperson to join our Maintenance team.

With over 40 years of experience supplying quality flowering plants, herbs and vegetables to leading Australian retailers, we rely on well-maintained plant and equipment to keep our operations running safely and efficiently.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining, repairing and improving plant, machinery and equipment across our nursery sites. You will take a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and work with external contractors to ensure our equipment remains in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out preventative maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on plant, machinery and equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs in a timely manner.
- Work alongside external contractors and liaise with suppliers, manufacturers and service agents.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection sheets and documentation.
- Assist with planning and coordinating weekly maintenance schedules and job lists.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety and maintenance efficiency.
- Monitor maintenance costs, assist with budgeting and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure tools,



equipment and the Maintenance Shed are kept clean, organised and well maintained.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working setting.
- Provide emergency call-out support as required or coordinate contractors remotely.

About You

You are a practical problem-solver who takes pride in your work, can work independently and understands the importance of keeping equipment secure, reliable and operational.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance or facilities maintenance role.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
